An infusion is the best way to get the most out of the green, softer, or flowering parts of a plant. A standard therapeutic infusion is 1 heaping teaspoon dried herb or 2 teaspoons of a mixture of dried herbs (for fresh herbs use double the amount) to 6fl oz (175ml) boiling water.
- 1 heaping tsp dried herb, or 2 tsp chopped fresh herb,
- 6fl oz (175ml) boiling water.
- Put the chopped herbs in a cup or teapot, and pour the boiling water over the herbs.
- Allow to steep for 10 minutes, best covered to prevent the loss of volatile oils in the steam. Strain the infusion before use.
